Textbook shortage to be resolved soon

Dear Q600 students;

I have contacted both the McGraw-Hill salesperson and the bookstore manager. I am sure we will receive additional copies very soon.

So the textbooks have already been re-ordered by Carrie, the expected delivery date is Friday to Hamilton. Carrie says that a manager brings the books from Hamilton to Burlington personally, which I would think means students will be able to purchase the hard copies on Monday at the Burlington bookstore. I believe it is a situation where the books were brought it but may have been misplaced or are not clearly marked because it says there are 24 in stock though your students are unable to find them.

If students are looking to purchase the connect online standalone version (ebook) they can be doing that today at the following link. They simply select your course from the dropdown menu and can purchase the access codes.

Extension of deadline for HW 1 (Chs. 1-2)

Dear Q600 students;

I understand that there has been some delay in the supply of the textbook/connect card we use in Q600. I have thus decided to extend the deadline for the first assignment by one (1) week.

I have contacted both the McGraw-Hill salesperson and the bookstore manager. I am sure we will receive additional copies very soon.

I just checked stock in your bookstore, it says there are 24 copies and 44 on order at the moment, so I am not sure why students would not be able to find the text. This may be a situation where students are going to the Burlington store and the texts are in Hamilton, or the reverse of this. Carrie can you check which location has the physical texts so that students know where to go?

This text is also loaded onto campusebookstore, so the ebook packages are readily available and can be purchased in store or online.

Kevin

Saturday special class cancelled! (Shuttle bus confusion)

Sorry about the shuttle bus issue this morning. It appears that the bus driver used the weekday schedule and arrived too late at DSB. By that time, understandably, many students had left DSB.

There were a few students who arrived at RJC with their cars. After waiting about 45 minutes I told them that the special class is cancelled.

I will start Chapter 2 from the beginning and will cover all of Sections 2.1 to 2.4 in class during normal class times.

Special class to discuss Chapter 2 material

Material in Chapter 2 (Sections 2.1 to 2.4 with the exceptions noted in the outline) is required for all students but it will not be discussed in class. (Most of Chapter 2 is covered in Ontario high schools.)

I will, however, provide a 3-hour session on Sections 2.1 to 2.4 (voluntary to attend) on September 14, 2013 (Saturday) in the RJC Auditorium from 11:00--14:00.

Shuttle bus schedule TBA soon.
